Sioux Falls Master Windshield handles windshield replacement in Renner on your acreage, just a few minutes north of I-90 on Highway 115. We do cars, pickups and motorhomes, calibrate lane cameras in house and move the job to our heated shop when the wind across those fields gets too strong.
Renner isn't a city on paper. It's an unincorporated spot in Mapleton Township, which had 2,099 people in the 2020 census, and most of them live on acreages with a long gravel driveway, a pickup, a shed and sometimes a camper. That mix keeps us busy in a few predictable ways.
Open fields mean wind, and wind blows grit into fresh glue. On a breezy day, park on the side of the shed out of the wind, or pull inside if there's room.
If it's gusting hard or below about 20°F, we'll book you into the heated shop instead. Same price, same crew, warmer coffee.
Gravel Drives and Cliff Avenue: Renner's Glass Problems
Most Renner damage starts within a mile of the house. Some of it starts on the drive into Sioux Falls.
Long Gravel Driveways and Section Roads
Section-line roads around Renner, like 255th and 258th Street, are gravel, and so are most acreage driveways. Follow a neighbor's truck at 40 mph and you'll collect pits and chips all spring. Last fall we filled 3 chips on one Renner pickup in a single stop, all from the same quarter mile of road.
Highway 115 Truck Traffic North of Exit 399
Highway 115 runs on Cliff Avenue up to I-90 at Exit 399, a single-point interchange finished in 2013, then north through Renner toward Dell Rapids, per the Highway 115 entry on Wikipedia. Grain trucks, gravel haulers and contractors share it with commuters. A broker's listing even shows 475th Avenue planned to grow from two lanes to four.
What Should You Do About a Chip on a Renner Acreage?
Fix it soon, especially before the first hard freeze. A chip smaller than a quarter can usually be filled with resin in about 20 minutes, and many insurers pay that repair in full. Wait too long and cold nights or a hot defroster can run it into a crack that needs a whole new windshield.
A rock chip is a slow leak in a pontoon tube. Patch it at the dock in ten minutes, or tow the boat home in August when it finally sinks. Tonight, cover it with a strip of clear tape so grit stays out.
Types of Auto Glass Work We Do in Renner
Windshield Replacement in Renner for Newer Pickups
Plenty of late-model Renner trucks carry a forward-facing camera, heating wires where the wipers park, or a rain sensor up top. Your VIN tells us which. New glass goes down in fresh urethane, then the camera gets recalibrated before the keys go back. Straight up, aim it a hair wrong and it misjudges the lane fifty yards out.
RV and Camper Windshields
Motorhome fronts come as a one-piece RV windshield or a two-piece one, where each half can be replaced alone. Some are glued, some sit in a gasket set (a rubber frame the glass snaps into). We've set fronts on Tiffin, Fleetwood, Monaco and Holiday Rambler coaches.
Back Glass With a Defroster Grid
Rear glass on a pickup is tempered and bursts into pebbles when gravel finds it. Replacement panes arrive with the defroster grid, those thin heating lines, already printed on. We wire it back up and make sure it warms.
Heads-Up Display and Acoustic Glass
A heads-up display (HUD) windshield bounces your speed up where you can read it without looking down. An acoustic windshield quiets road roar with an extra damping layer. Either one is pricier, and either one has to be the correct part number, so you hear the price before anything gets ordered.
How Much Does Windshield Replacement Cost in Renner?
Windshield replacement in Renner runs about $280 to $550 without a camera and $650 to $1,400 with one that needs calibration. HUD and heated glass can reach $1,000 to $2,000. RV fronts start around $1,200. The drive north from the shop is free, and with insurance you usually pay only your deductible.

Wind, Weather and Where We Set Your Glass
At 1,434 feet with open fields on every side, Renner gets wind that town streets block. We text you a 2-hour window the day before, and on the morning of the job we check the gusts. Calm and above about 20°F, the van comes to you. Otherwise it's the heated shop, about 20 minutes south.
RVs are a special case: big fronts often go in at the shop or a planned dry day. Farther up the road, we also cover Crooks, west of Renner.
Will your van make it down a gravel acreage driveway in Renner?
Yes. Our vans handle gravel just fine, and most Renner jobs happen right next to the house or the shed. We only need a reasonably flat spot with room to open the doors. If the lane is soft after a spring thaw, we'll meet you at the end of the drive.
Can you replace a motorhome windshield where it's parked in Renner?
Sometimes. Smaller two-piece fronts can often go in where the coach sits, on a dry and calm day. Large one-piece fronts usually need the shop, where we can lift them safely out of the wind. Text us the coach's year and model, and we'll say which way it goes.
Do you charge mileage to drive to Renner?
No. Renner is inside our normal mobile area, just north of the city, so there's no trip charge or mileage fee. A visit to your acreage costs the same as bringing the vehicle to our shop. We'll only steer you to the shop for weather, or for big RV glass.
How long does a windshield take to cure out here in the country?
The glass takes about an hour to set, then the urethane needs its safe drive-away time, usually 30 to 60 minutes and longer when it's cool. Country or city doesn't matter, but temperature and humidity do. Your installer writes the wait on the work order before driving off.
Happy Customers!
What our customers say
Rock chip repair
A gravel truck on I-29 put a star chip right in front of me. They fixed it in my work parking lot on my lunch break and insurance paid the whole thing. You honestly can't see where it was.
Megan T.Southwest Sioux Falls
Windshield + ADAS calibration
New windshield on our Highlander, and they did the camera calibration right after. Lane assist works like it did from the factory. They called my insurance with me on the line, so it took ten minutes.
Brian H.Brandon
Back glass replacement
Somebody broke my back window over the weekend. Called Monday morning, it was in by Monday afternoon and they vacuumed every last bit of glass out of the seats.
Alyssa R.Tea
Windshield replacement
It was 6 degrees, so they told me to bring the truck to the shop instead of doing it in my driveway. Glad they did. No leaks, no wind noise, fair price.
